Frequently asked questions

WHAT IS A "STICK AND POKE" OR "HAND POKE" TATTOO?

Stick and Poke tattoos are a form of non-electric tattooing. As opposed to the use of a machine, the tattoo is created with the use of a single sterile tattoo needle which is generally attached to a stick. The needle is then repeatedly poked into the skin to create dots and eventually, a tattoo design.

HOW MANY HOURS DOES A HAND POKE TATTOO USUALLY TAKE?

Hand Poke Tattoos take approximately 1-3 hours to complete. Larger projects may take longer or require an additional session.

DOES A HAND POKE TATTOO LAST AS LONG AS A MACHINE TATTOO?

Yes. Like machine tattoos, they will remain in the skin so long as they are properly taken care of.

HOW LONG DO HAND POKE TATTOOS TAKE TO HEAL?

Generally your tattoo will heal within two weeks if you have successfully followed the After Care Instructions provided with your Tattoo Consent Form.

WHERE CAN I FIND ANOTHER COPY OF THE AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS?

A copy of the After Care Instructions will be delivered to you via email after completing the Informed Consent Form prior to your tattoo. Click here to download a new copy.
